Street combatives refer to a set of self-defense techniques and strategies specifically designed for real-world, close-quarters encounters and confrontations that may occur in an urban or street environment. Unlike traditional martial arts or combat sports, which often have rules and regulations, street combatives focus on practical and effective methods to neutralise threats and protect oneself in potentially dangerous situations.

Street combatives emphasise simplicity, efficiency, and adaptability, taking into account the unpredictable nature of street fights. The techniques employed in street combatives often include a combination of striking, grappling, joint locks, throws, and other tactics aimed at quickly incapacitating or subduing an attacker. The training in street combatives also incorporates elements of situational awareness, verbal de-escalation, and understanding the legal aspects of self-defense.

The goal of street combatives is to provide individuals with the skills and mindset necessary to defend themselves and others in real-world self-defense scenarios. It emphasises practicality, survival, and the protection of life, focusing on techniques that can be easily learned and applied effectively, even under stress or when facing multiple attackers.
